Jim Wilson brought up this idea to me the other night, and I'm presenting it here.
Who will fill the shoes of such mighty generals as Tyrion and Eltharion? Who will stand unflinching in the face of the legions of dead and damned that will be descending on Ulthuan in these dark days? Who is the meanest, the prettiest, of all the Asur generals?
The answer will be revealed at the Crossroads. The challenge is this: Those who pick up the gauntlet will each play the same High Elf army for the Crossroads. Identical items, equipment, and troops. At the end of the event, the player with the highest battle score is the Chosen of the Everqueen, High Elf general extrodinaire.
The exact list will be determined shortly, but will likely lean infantry heavy. I hope to have the list in question up in a week or so. You can post ideas below.

There's no reason why the entire tournament doesn't do this. It would be glorious!

It would make for a pretty sweet group picture too "My God... it's full of spears!"

Well, here's the list I suggest. It's inoffensive, and prickly. And if you play it as well as I would, you could even beat daemons! What do you say?
Level 4, ring of fury, annulian crystal Level 2, jewel of dusk, scroll 21 spearmen, full command, warbanner 21 spearmen, musician and standard 21 seaguard, shields, full command 21 seaguard, shields, musician and standard 6 shadow warriors 5 dragon princes with standard, musician, banner of ellyrion 1 lion chariot 1 tiranoc chariot 2 great eagles 1 repeater bolt-thrower

Well I will gladly play that list.
However, I do want there to be a slight adjustment based on 1 thing.
If there is a Bsb point (which ended up being pretty huge for colonial), I think we should include this bsb setup-
Noble- GW, Armor of Caledor, Bsb
cheap and effective

Stupid BSB point. It's lame.

This certainly gives me like 5 more reasons to take Dark Elves.

It's a doable option Nidal, and I would only have to buy a few more figures to field it (and paint another unit of sea guard to do so)
I echo Arash's thoughts about the BSB. If it's still worth bonus points, we shouldn't short ourselves out of overall by not using it.
Here's a list example that includes the BSB.
Archmage: lvl 4, annulian crystal, ring of fury Mage: lvl 2, jewel of dusk, dispel scroll Noble: great weapon, armor of caledor, battle standard
21 spear elves: full command, war banner 20 spear elves: standard and musician 21 sea guard: full command, shields 5 dragon princes: standard, musician, banner of ellyrion 1 lion chariot 5 shadow warriors 2 great eagles 1 bolt thrower 15 elite infantry of some sort: full command
Dropped: tiranoc chariot, unit of sea guard w. standard/musician, 1 spear elf, 1 shadow warrior.
We trade one shooting unit for one tougher melee unit, a few odd troops and the chariot (much worse in a high fear environment) for the BSB, which is so useful in a infantry based list.
Thoughts and comments, fellow Asur?

Here is the list i came up with after the suggestions through email. Looks really fun to play, and it still has like 100 elves! I would still like to get the 2nd Bolt Thrower but 2 Eagles is fun too!
Archmage - Annulian Crystal, Ring of Fury Mage - Scroll, Jewel of Dusk
21 Seaguard - Full Comm, Shields 21 Seaguard - Full Comm, Shields 21 Spears - Std, Musician
12 Swordmaster - Std, Musician, Lion Std OR War Banner 5 Dragon Princes - Std, Musician, Ellyrion Banner 6 Shadow Warriors Lion Chariot Tiranoc Chariot
Bolt Thrower Eagle Eagle
Total: 2244 OR 2249 (depends on Masters banner) Casting: 9 Dispell: 6

I would also like to get a 6th Dragon Prince in the unit. I always run 6 and it works well. Maybe lose one Shadow Warrior and a model from each Seaguard unit (the characters still make them 7x3) and fit a Prince in.
If not, maybe we should drop the 6th Shadow Warrior and get the Amulet of Light on the Princes, magical attacks against Dryads etc is big for only 15pts.

I like it just as you have it above. Amulet of light would be too expensive, as you have to also buy a champion to carry it. I'm not crazy about a 6th prince... 3 are all you need to clean up a flank. As long as you break ranks, you're good to do as far as beating a unit. And the woods should hide them from all manner of missiles unfriendly to cav long enough for them to get in there. Against drayads... they army has no problems with dryads! You just walk up to wood elves as fast as you can and BEAT them! Done! I actually still love my original list, but I know you guys don't want to play the gimpy 4 big units. So I'm doing it for YOU!!!!! Now, let's see who else we can rope into doing this.

Lets do Lion Banner, I think it will be more effective.

Can we do something to make it less effective?
[ducks]
(in all seriousness, I'm debating the merits of a banner at all in the swordmaster unit)
