Questions arising from warm up tournament

I just finished playing in a local tournament that used the rules and scenarios for the Crossroads. A few interesting questions came up.

Target of Opportunity Scenario: Can you nominate a unit that isn't on the board right away, like an ambusher or gutter runner or miner unit?

"Football" scenario: A unit with a character picks up one of their objectives. Can you use skitterleap, smoke and mirrors, or steed of shadows to move the character and objective out of the unit? Can the character leave the unit with the objective and race to the board edge?

I would say, yes to the first question. You can nomminate a target that does not start on the board as a target of opportunity.

For the second question, a character cannot take an objective with them when they leave a unit.

Can the objective be moved with the unit in the case of hand of gork then?
